Whoever said, "Out of sight, out of mind" quite likely never had a spider get chased under their couch by a cat. In episode 46 of season 2, Podcast Host Heather discusses the importance of not burying our emotional needs. When we have deep traumas, grief and hurt, it is so important to seek the help we need to truly heal. The ideas of 'act as if until you are' and 'what you focus on grows,' tend to lead some to turn away from difficult emotional needs and to push pain away. Heather proposes a different way, which sure sometimes may mean reaching out to find help, but certainly avoids shoving pain down to be dealt with at a later time.
