This month the Pan African Parliament has been hosting its fifth ordinary session at it's headquarters in Midrand, South Africa. The session, which started last week, is aimed at addressing from the duties and relevance of the Parliament to continental issues such as leadership in Africa. Some of the pressing issues being discussed are the proposal to align committees of PAP with Departments of the African Union, the utilisation of the African Peer Review Mechanism, and finding answers to problems facing African Women and Children. To help us understand some of the issues being discussed we have Elizabeth Agycman from Ghana who is the Deputy Director of the Women Caucus, Steven Guzd, Head of the Governance and African Peer Review Mechanism Programme at the South African Institute of International Affairs,Advocate Zwelethu Madasa, The Clerk of the Pan African ParliamentJeegen Grey-Johnson an Advocacy officer with the Africa Governance, Monitoring and Advocacy Project at the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa.Joseph Mahndam of Cameroon and Committee Secretary at PAP.
