For you do not know when the time will come. 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— 36 lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”Sermon HighlightsWakefulness is watchfulness.The antidote to spiritual slumber is to take heed, watch and pray.Your body will always adjust to the time zone that you call home.If we are not intentional about reminding ourselves what time zone we belong to, we begin to fall asleep spiritually.The enemy wants to put you into a spiritual coma.Fasting reminds us that our world is not our home.If we spent as much time praying and in the word as we do in media, the voice of God would be very familiar with us.Proximity and practice are key.Where is our home? We’re exiles, foreigners, and strangers here on this earth. Our citizenship is in Heaven – and we need to intentionally keep our hearts calibrated, aligned, and synced up with the Kingdom of God.
