Pastoring In A Pandemic with Beth Merrill Neel and Gregg Neel

from Leading Theologically · host Presbyterian Foundation

Rev. Beth Merrill Neel and Rev. Gregg Neel of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Portland, Oregon, kicked off our Facebook Live 2020 series with a discussion on pastoring in a pandemic. They are offering virtual worship with the help of their 14-year-old daughter, who is serving as their technology consultant. Members of the congregation are videoed reading parts of the liturgy to allow members to see each other and not just the ministers. They also shared that members of their congregation have stepped up in ways that are '"stunning" and incredibly helpful. When it comes to meeting other pastoral needs, deacons and those with Stephen Ministers are calling church members using the church directory as a guide.
