Is it a failure of a season if the Penguins proceed to miss the playoffs after all of this? Another lopsided loss at home last night has them clinging to the final playoff spot in the Metro with the wild card race starting to look very messy. Missing the playoffs would be the fourth straight year of no postseason. There are individual success stories like Ben Kindel and the turnaround of Erik Karlsson, along with what we saw from Dan Muse in his first season on the bench. But finishing in the middle does nothing for this team and organization. Poni was surprised that Joe was outnumbered during the midday show thinking that this season would be a downer if they miss the playoffs.
