Perfect Beach Weather Wednesday and Thursday West Central Southwest Florida Sunny Skies Calm Surf
from Surf Report Tampa Florida · host Inception Point AI
Good morning, this is your West Central and Southwest Florida Surf Zone Forecast for Wednesday, April 15th through Thursday, April 16th, 2026. Let's start with what Mother Nature is serving up today. If you're planning a beach day, you're in for a treat. Conditions are looking absolutely stellar across all our coastal zones with sunny skies, light winds, and no thunderstorm activity in sight. Water temperatures are sitting comfortably in the mid-seventies, so that wetsuit stays in the closet. For the northern beaches from Cedar Key down through Port Richey, we're expecting highs in the mid-seventies with southeast winds around five miles per hour, switching to the southwest this afternoon. Surf heights remain minimal at one foot or less, and rip current risk stays low throughout the day. The UV index is very high, so don't forget that sunscreen even if the water isn't pumping. Head south to the Pinellas and Manatee County beaches including Clearwater Beach and Siesta Key, and you'll find slightly warmer conditions with highs in the lower eighties. East winds around ten miles per hour will shift southward in the afternoon. Same story here with one-foot surf and low rip current risk. The water temperature is still that pleasant mid-seventies range. Down in Southwest Florida, covering the Lee and Charlotte County beaches like Sanibel, Captiva, and Fort Myers Beach, conditions mirror the rest of the coast with lower eighties, east winds around ten miles per hour, and that same calm, glassy one-foot or less surf. UV remains very high everywhere, so slather on that protection. Tonight, things stay quiet and comfortable. Mostly clear skies roll in with lows dropping to the mid-sixties. Northwest winds around ten miles per hour will shift to the southeast after midnight. Rip currents remain low, and there's no thunderstorm activity expected. Perfect for a sunset stroll or evening beachside dinner. Thursday shapes up to be even better than today. Sunny conditions continue across all zones with highs returning to the mid-seventies in the north and lower eighties down south. Southeast winds start light around five miles per hour, then shift to the southwest this afternoon. Once again, we're looking at one-foot or less surf with low rip current risk and no storms. A quick reminder: while rip current risk is low everywhere, life-threatening rip currents can still develop near groins, jetties, reefs, and piers. Always respect the water and never turn your back to the ocean. This is shaping up to be an absolutely beautiful couple of days at the beach. Perfect conditions for swimmers, paddleboarders, and anyone wanting to enjoy Florida's stunning coastline. Get out there and soak it all in.
