The European Court of Justice has ruled that pets on flights can be classified as baggage and that lost baggage rules apply if they go missing.The ECJ was asked to intervene in the case of a pet dog that went missing on a flight from Buenos Aires to Barcelona on 22 October, 2019.A passenger was travelling with her mother and pet dog on a flight operated by the Spanish airline Iberia.While small dogs are allowed in the cabin, the size and weight of the dog in question meant that it was due to travel in the hold in a pet carrier.Lead Travel Writer & Journalist, Eoghan Corry, joined us on The Agenda this morning to talk to us some more about this.
