Plans needed to deliver housing locally

Emergency legislation must be introduced to fast-track the planning and delivery of housing and critical infrastructure in Sligo.That's according to a local Cllr, who highlighted the community frustration over a lack of housing and services in the region.It's hoped this would limit delays without removing essential parts of the process such as community input and environmental protections.Independent Cllr Marie Casserly says the current system is archaic:
