Weeding Positivity - getting rid of the dead wood (releasing fears, removing the Conflicts/Resistance/Anger and Procrastination) techniques to help release u to the flow.Hopefully you are feeling a lot more positive and you are feeling better, good, maybe more energized. Hopefully you are becoming more able to pay attention to your feelings as well. This workshop is going to be about how to help you release on the negative thoughts and situations. Because you cannot just decide to think happy thoughts, there are certain things that require a little bit more action. I will also talk about the subconscious beliefs we hold that sabotage our success and give you some strategies to try to deal with that. We talked about the subconscious beliefs last week, they are the thoughts you have that you are not even aware having because they have been buried for so long, but they are the thoughts that prevent you from getting what you want, unless what you want is the same thought. They are the bad thoughts, the little voice that always says no to your ideas. I am not a trained counselor and I will not be in any way able to help you, with some specific emotional problems. It is possible that as your progress towards positivity you will recall/ experience some unhappy memories, remember some bad thoughts or encounter some limiting events that require further work. I strongly urge you to seek professional help with that from a trained and experienced counselor, or a student counselor, a friend or confident that can help you work out your feelings better. We have no problem seeking a doctor out when we feel poorly, or break a leg, but we do have problems seeking help if our thought processes, our thinking is not positive thinking or are not healthy and functioning. However, there are people perfectly qualified to help you and I do highly recommend seeking professional help if some situations and emotions present themselves and you feel unable to cope if it over whelms you. I have put this particular workshop 5th, because in my experience when we begin making changes in our lives we are fired up and feel good and the adrenalin, keeps us motivated and working towards our goals. However, after a while, we begin to lose momentum and we slow down, we have trouble remaining focused and on task, we hit resistances, blocks and these all start to sap our energy.If you have been following my advice and working through the activities, it is highly possible about now that you are experiencing some resistance, some blocks, brick walls and limitations.Resistance can come in many forms. Maybe a loving family member starts to notice changes in you and having an Amygdala themselves fears the change and so they say things to help bring you back to the ‘old’ the previous version of yourself or maybe you fear the change and so your inner dialogue goes something like: “ yeah right! Like this is going to work? Who ever heard of changing things with thought, you change things with hard work, determination….etc”What I have personally experienced when I have actively chosen to be a lot more positive, is the fact that there seems to be far more situations that were challenging and / or negative that came up and they actually made me feel more negative!
