Stacey & Morgan need your help. Please join their campaign to help spread the word on a very urgent and important issue. The Annapolis Film Festival introduced the DIFTS team to Lois Lipman and her eye opening documentary First We Bombed New Mexico (FWBNM). “FWBNM is the untold story of thousands of American citizens who were radiated by their own government. Never warned, acknowledged, or compensated, the New Mexico Downwinders have silently suffered generations of cancers. 75 years after the world's first nuclear bomb, codename Trinity, is secretly detonated in southern New Mexico, a Latina cancer survivor catalyzes a movement demanding justice for a legacy of lethal radiation. FWBNM follows Tina Cordova, a dynamic Latina business woman and cancer survivor, who has catalyzed a grassroots movement in south-central New Mexico to seek justice for the Native and Latinx communities who have suffered from the 1945 Trinity Test.” Lois Lipman (Director/Producer) is an Emmy and Peabody award winning 30 year career documentarian who field produced 24 international stories for CBS News 60 Minutes and produced hour long documentaries for Channel 4 – UK and the BBC.  “I was astonished to discover the untold tragedy of the Trinity bomb. I am making this film to witness the people’s narrative for voices not yet heard. We should not just let the US government's scientific achievements be the only picture in the frame about Trinity. Hopefully by shining a lens on this tragic scenario, the affected communities will get the recognition and justice they deserve.- Lois Lipman” Morgan and Stacey discuss the shocking truth about the story behind the story of Oppenheimer. Learn how the sisters have become passionate about bringing this story to light and what you can do to help. We are urgently asking you to help get the people of New Mexico the support that they need.
