LOVE’S METAMORPHOSIS  In yon depths of mine own soul, a torment befalls , Oh, how it writhes within, as torment deep dwells , The sweet, fresh blossom of the nerunji flourish midst the arid sand, Yet, alas, its fate is to turn into a thorny band. Even so, my erstwhile sweet beloved, Once tender and affectionate as a summer's eve, Hath undergone a transformation dire, Now draped in cruelty, devoid of compassion. Oh, the anguish that doth pierce mine innermost being, as if the universe conspires to play this cruel part, In this metaphysical realm, where love hath turned to pain, I ponder, what cosmic forces have wrought this change? Once my paramour, sweet and tender, so divine and pure, Now cruel and heartless, love's ember, lost forever, obscure. Oh, how it pains, my aching heart, this grievous blow,  To recall such a glorious past love's vibrant glow.  ( what the wife shared with her companion about her disillusionment caused by the change in her beloved's character) Note:*Nerunji flowers (puncture vine/goat’s head/caltrop) are small yellow flowers that follow the Sun.
