The Prime Minister says he's wishing for the best for missing 5-year-old Sharon Granites and her family as the search enters its third day in Alice Springs.Police have revealed the man they believe may have abducted her, 47-year-old Jefferson Lewis, had been out of jail just six days when he was reportedly seen holding hands with a girl on Saturday night, in the area where Sharon disappeared from.Officers say they believe she's still alive.President Donald Trump has nominated former Republican Congressman, David Brat, as the next US ambassador to Australia.The former Virginia representative will face a confirmation hearing in the Senate, before he takes on the position.The role has been vacant since Caroline Kennedy left in 2024.Mr Brat is a hard-line Christian conservative who's worked as an academic and economist.The US First Lady Melania Trump has called the comedian Jimmy Kimmel a coward for commenting that she "had a glow like an expectant widow".The late night show host was delivering a spoof speech on the eve of the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting.The first lady called his remarks corrosive and urged the US based ABC network to "take a stand", while President Donald Trump called for Kimmel to be fired.
