Potential breakthrough in Ballyshannon Community Hospital dispute

from Ocean FM News Reports

There may be a potential breakthrough in the ongoing dispute surrounding the new Sheil Hospital in Ballyshannon. The hospital was due to open on Monday but had been stalled due to concerns from the INMO around planned staffing levels. Now, it's understood that there are fresh proposals on the table which if agreed to by INMO members, could see the hospital open next week. The INMO say that the new plans for staffing are in line with what had been sought and members are set to vote on them with the ballot to close this coming Monday. Sligo Leitrim Independent TD Marian raised the issue in the Dail earlier today with the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. Speaking to Ocean FM news, Deputy Harkin says the latest developments are very much welcome but stressed that the new facility must open as soon as possible:
