Prep Period: Jim Benkert hired at Simi Valley

Jim Benkert, one of the winningest football coaches in Ventura County history, was hired at Simi Valley High last month, not long after a shocking departure from Oaks Christian School. Benkert, who coached the Lions to the CIF-Southern Section Division 2 championship last fall, is taking his talents to the Canyon League. Joe Curley and Loren Ledin react to the news.
