Presidential Election 2025 is an "Omnishambles", say Meath-West TD - 07/10/2025
from The Agenda
We were joined on The Agenda this morning by Aontú leader and Meath West TD Peadar Tóibín, who has stated that the race for the Áras 2025 is turning into an “omnishambles”.We were joined by Independent Senator Sharon Keogan, who has said the level of public discontent regarding how the Presidential nomination process was effectively hijacked by the main political parties and the subsequent shock withdrawal of the Fianna Fail candidate Jim Gavin is creating a sense that “the vote itself will now amount to a proxy referendum on the integrity of Irish politics and Fianna Fail in particular.”Senator Keogan added, “the entire process has descended into farce. Aside from anything else, this has yet again exposed the shallowness of the cheap consensus that passes for political debate in Ireland”. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
