Jurgen Klopp was back in front of the media at Melwood this afternoon to preview Saturday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City. As well as giving his opinion on the return of former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers – who also happens to be Klopp’s landlord – he also provided a big fitness update on Alisson Becker. However, news on Joel Matip’s and Xherdan Shaqiri’s fitness is less positive. Klopp went on to back Joe Gomez after the England defender’s display in midweek in Matip’s absence, reveals something that would make him leave Liverpool, confirms he once tried to sign a Leicester player, as well as detailing how his defence can stop Jamie Vardy.
