Pride Season Doesn't Mean Open Season On LGBTQI People!!! Ep 19 🏳️‍🌈

Rainbow Blak talks Pride Season and the rise of Homophobic Hate Crimes in the UK  against men & women of the community. A recent high profile case to hit the media is Lesbian couple Melania Grey and her partner Chris.  Whilst travelling on a bus in North London a group of teenaged boys began to harass, coerce and demand that they perform and kiss each other for the entertainment of their group.  When the couple refused they were beaten, verbally assaulted and robbed of their possessions.   No bystanders came to their aide and subsequently the group fled.  Latest news due to social media exposure and public outcry.  Have seen 5 teenaged males arrested but not identified due to their ages.  Both women express that they still feel angry but they will not be silenced or forced to not display their relationship status.  All of this follows a spate of Trans Black women being targeted and killed in the U.S with no visible signs of justice for their lives. This begs the question are LGBTQI  protected or fought for the way their Caucasian LGBTQI community is in 2019. Rainbow Blak discusses whats the real meaning of Pride beyond the partying and corporation riding the rainbow flag pink pound train.  Rainbow Blak also talks about why there is still a need to have a UK Black Pride and truth about visibility POC being the minority within the minority within the White/ Caucasian.  Founder Phyll Opoku-Gyimah heading up a bigger venue for this years UK Black Pride and becoming head of Kalediscope Trust an groundbreaking LGBTQI Organisation in the UK.
