Principles of God's Will for Our Music - Part 3

Everything we do as believers should be governed by two foundational principles: loving God with all our hearts and loving others more than we love ourselves. This is also true when it comes to choosing the music that we listen to and participate in as Christians. Our music DOES affect others. The questions that we must ask in evaluating whether our music demonstrates our live for others are these: Does my music accurately communicate the nature and character of the God I serve? and Could my choices in music be a stumbling block to weaker believers and the unsaved? We are responsible to God for how everything in our lives affects those around us, and that includes our music. Are we truly interested in glorifying God in our music by making sure that it becomes a medium for edification rather than a temptation to others.
