Summary
Listen to my teeny weeny poem on Privilege, rather my take on privilege, the way I have seen it playing out in my life and lives of those around me. I come from a small village in Central India- Sevagram, and the more I saw people around me, more often, the girls, the women of the households in my very conservative Sindhi surroundings- it almost felt like these women do not know at all that their male counterparts are privileged in ways more than the numbers of stars in the sky. And it almost struck hard, something deep in me, that's how gaslighting works, doesn't it? While it is tragic that the ones who are privileged are oblivious about their privileges or do not care about those beneath them, it breaks one's heart to see that the underprivileged do not know or care about their own plight either... I hope my poem will make you think about it, even if for a second, and it will hurt, even if a bit, for I hope we are all still human, despite all the ways in which our minds are modified and convoluted by our harder than ever lives...
