Psalm 1 - The Gifts of a Blessed Life

from West Lynchburg · host WLBC

Psalm 32:1 “Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Romans 4:7-8, “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered, blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.” Rom 3:10-11 “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.” Mark 10:17-18, “And as He was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before Him and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.” Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Romans 3:21-25, “But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.” 2 Corinthians 5:21, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Psalm 4:1, “Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!” Psalm 71:16, “With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone.” Psalm 24:5, “He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.” Gift #1 - God will give you passions that persist (v1-2) Gift #2 - God will give you pursuits that prosper (v3-4) Gift #3 - God will give you protections that are permanent (v5-6) Psalm 34:8, Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
