Queer City Sports Builds Community Through Play
from Baltimore News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Queer City Sports turns the game on its head—no booze, no cliques, just inclusive leagues where strangers become squad. Born in Baltimore in 2018, this queer-led sports org started with softball but now offers kickball, volleyball, and even cornhole (new this week!). Teams are intentionally mixed to foster new friendships in a safe space, filling a void left by fading queer hangouts. Founder Rebecca Winslow built it to be active, authentic, and accessible—whether you’re a pro or just looking to have fun. Summer kickball’s open for registration, cornhole’s already rolling on Tuesdays, and chapters are popping up in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, and soon D.C. It’s not just about the game—it’s about building community, one inning, toss, and laugh at a time. Support the show:Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
