Nathalie Wajashk-Restoule is Anishinaabe kwe. Mother of 2 children. She is a member of Okikendawt Anishinabek (Dokis First Nation) and is from the Eagle Clan. Nathalie is a graduate of the Indigenous Wellness and Addictions Prevention Program at Canadore College, went on to Nipissing University to start her 4-year degree in Psychology.Cultural and Anishinaabemwin Language Instructor at Okikendawt Kinoomadii Gamig and works at Female Youth Represenative at Anishinabek Nation Youth and Ms. Regional Canada 2022-2023 at Mrs. Ms. Regional Canada Empowerment Pageant.Nathalie is an active learner of the Anishinaabemowin language, participates in land-based learnings, cultural/traditional teachings, ceremonies and community-based research that supports Indigenous revitalization efforts. Through her experiences in education and community involvement, she discovered her passion for advocating for Indigenous health and wellbeing, connection to culture/identity, and natural law. She has built many strong relationships with elders, knowledge keepers, historians, medicine keepers, language speakers, leadership and youth.
