A sobering post-Christmas reality check that asks why Jesus had to come at all. Reflecting on King Herod, human sin, and the world’s hatred of God, this sermon points to our shared need for a Savior and the purpose of Christ’s birth—to die for us. In the midst of evil, suffering, and uncertainty, we are reminded that God remains in control and works all things for our salvation in Christ.
