Whatever you allow gains more ground in your life. If you do nothing about your foundational problems, you will struggle and be defeated all your life. No tree grows beyond the seed that births it. You cannot grow beyond the foundation that made you, for you are the harvest of the tree that produced you. To rebuke and cause situations to bow in obedience, you can't afford to keep a mouth that is an uncontrollable tap of bitter water. You must stand to contend, rebuke, and resist the onslaught of the devil in your home.
