Recent Widows Need Financial Guidance

from Real Talk with Life After Grief Chris · host Christopher Dale

Send us Fan MailA 3 part mini-series of tips for widows has been created due in part from a lot of feedback from good listeners like you. In this third episode, I focus on specific tips when seeking financial guidance from a professional. I provide information on what a fiduciary is, why it is important and how to find one. I also provide credentials of professionals who are certified in both financial planning as well as financial (life and money) transitions. I give commentary on asking plenty of questions, going with your gut instinct and talking about fees when selecting a trusted financial planner.  I also give commentary on the number one reason why a spouse (specifically a wife) leaves an advisor after the passing of a husband. I will give you a clue. The advisor fails to foster a relationship with the wife during the course of the relationship.    I also give commentary on the average life span of a wife beyond her husband. Did you know that half of all women who become widowed in the U.S. are under age 59. With an average female life expectancy of 79 in the U.S., that means two decades of women having to manage money alone. This can be daunting, especially in the midst of grief.     I appreciate the feedback and list of questions helping to create this mini-series.If you like this episode, please feel free to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or where you listen to podcasts. Please feel free to pass this podcast on to any friends, family members or colleagues. #widows #widowhood #widowtimelines #newidentity #trusted team #fiduciary #CFP #CeFTSupport the showDid you know you can now Help Us Continue Making Awesome Content for Listeners Affected by Grief! Thanks for listening!  Follow us on twitter or follow us on Facebook.  You can also find us on LinkedIn.
