One thing you can do right now is register to vote. Go to vote.org and register in under 2 minutes. Want an absentee ballot? On vote.org you can look up how your state handles vote by mail and sign up to receive an absentee ballot. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that in the midst of everything else happening in our country right now that we are in the middle of an election year. While the Presidential race always gets a lot of attention - if you’re interested in reforming policing practices in your communities the best way you can affect change is at the local level. Mayors and county executives appoint most police chiefs. States' attorneys and district attorneys are the ones who decide to bring charges of misconduct.
