from Ocean FM News Reports

There's renewed calls for the VAT rate for the hospitality sector to return to 9%. The VAT rate for the hospitality sector in Ireland currently stands at 13.5%, with a number of businesses across the north west struggling to keep their doors open. Earlier this month, Minister Paschal Donohoe poured cold water on the matter saying it would cost more than 700 million euro for the restoration. Local Independent Councillor, Felim Gurn brought a motion on the matter before this month's sitting of Leitrim County Council. He feels it must be done or else, there will be more closures.
