Send us Fan Mail Repent1 Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—Welcome to Respecting the Word podcast Where we are careful with how we use the Bible and we try to put the word into action in our life. So my first podcast was the Gospel as the foundation of this podcast so I want to take pieces of it for subject matter and bring it all together at the end. So last episode we talked about the Biblical free will and why Jesus. We saw our wickedness of our sin in us through a little history in the Bible and in the world today. Some don’t believe in original sin but don’t have any scripture to back that view up but with the Bible we do and even outside the Bible we see evidence of it from infants to adults. Side note I don’t believe children will go to hell. The Bible says we need to be like a child to enter the kingdom. So I started with Romans 5:12 for intro verse into the podcast and is the verse that proves we are all born into sin. It doesn’t say “except babies” in it. Some don’t see babies as sinners but a baby is very sinful in a small level and that sin continues to grow more and more where by the time they are 4 years old they are a master at lying. A young child can steal at a store and think nothing about it. This just proves Romans 5:12 is and we can’t hide from it and at one point we will have to face God on judgment day one way or another. So now we can see ourselves as sinners from a personal level and how sinful our society is and Romans 5:12 makes more sense. So lets go back over the law.Ever lied ever stolenEver lustedEver Hated.Ever dishonored parentsDo you love God with all your heart mind soul 365 days a years?? If you are guilty of breaking just one those you are guilty of breaking them all and you need to repent and that is the topic for this podcast. Repenting feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin and this definition missed the mark of of turning from that sin and putting your faith in Christ. Why do we need to repent? Jesus started off his ministry telling everyone to repent Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Then facing some people he told them also Luke 13:5 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” Jesus hates sin and no person who is dead in sin will be in heaven only people who have repented and believed in the Lord Jesus. The number attribute of God is holiness. Everyone seems to believe is love is his #1 attribute but you don’t read in Revelation 4:8 Love love love and it reads And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within, and day and night they do not cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.” The world says love love love but it is a selfish love they have and not a godly love. God is also love and saves who ever repents and believes in him. The world doesn’t love God. They love the world.Luke 15:7 I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.See even the angels celebrate when one person repents. They won’t celebrate when someone does good works or is baptized or keeps God’s law. They already know we can’t keep it. 2nd Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world brings about death. So the law brings death and repentance and faith in Christ leads to Life in Christ. So what will you do or what will a friend and family member do? Judgment day is coming. Heaven or hell??Contact
