Returning to Our First Love

from All Peoples Church Sermons · host Ps Jeyakumar Isaiah

This sermon is a reminder and a call to return to our first love - God Himself. In Revelation 2:1-7, the Lord Jesus while commending the church in Ephesus for many good things - their works, labor, patience, perseverance and discernment points out that they were lacking in one area. They had left their first love. In the Lord's eyes, it was akin to falling to a lower place, relationally, from Him. If they did not repent and do what was necessary to get back, they, as a church could risk losing their ability to influence and impact the world for the Kingdom of God. So, the call is to remember, repent and do the first works. Let him who has an ear hear what the Spirit of God is saying.
