Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly, and you're listening to the 6 AM Rhode Island Weather Podcast. It's Friday, February 21st. Folks, grab your rain gear before you grab your coffee. Step outside right now and you'll feel 39 degrees in Providence. Narragansett Bay sits at 38. Light east winds, 3 to 7 miles an hour. Feels almost peaceful. Don't trust it. Here's the deal. That east wind is quietly pulling moisture our way like a pickpocket. By mid morning, rain isn't a maybe. It's a guarantee. Steady, soaking rain blankets the entire state through the afternoon. Highs only reach 42 degrees. That raw, damp kind of cold that crawls into your bones and sets up camp. Your morning commute? Soggy. Sunrise hits at 6:36, so you're driving into rain and gray. Tides peak at 9:31 this morning at 3.6 feet. Watch for minor splash over along the coast. Tonight the rain lingers into the evening. Lows hang in the upper 30s. Not freezing, but wet roads can surprise you. Take it slow if you're heading out late. Now here's what's coming your way this week. Saturday stays gray and drippy. Highs near 40 degrees with lingering showers. But Sunday? The plot twist. Skies clear, sun returns, and you're looking at 45 degrees. Monday and Tuesday push even warmer. Near 50 degrees with sunshine. That's the kind of February gift you don't question. Then Wednesday pulls the rug out. Back to the 30s. Classic Rhode Island whiplash. One bright spot worth mentioning. We're gaining almost 3 minutes of daylight every single day now. Spring is sneaking closer whether February likes it or not. Alright. If this forecast saved your outfit choice today, share us with a friend who hates getting rained on unprepared. I'll be back at 9 AM with rain timing updates. Stay dry out there!
