Rick and Morty S01E10 — Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind

Rick is arrested by the Trans-Dimensional Council of Ricks — a secret multiverse government of alternate Ricks — and wrongfully convicted of murdering twenty-seven counterparts based on planted portal gun evidence. Tracing the hack leads Rick and Morty to a compound where hundreds of captive Mortys are held in a pain-based cloaking matrix, revealing that every Rick keeps a Morty because Morty's brainwaves cancel out Rick's detectable genius signature.
