Romans 1:14 - Fulfilling the Debt of Love

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Wednesday December 23 – Romans 1:14 – The Apostle Paul felt he was under the tremendous burden of fulfilling his obligation to tell everyone he could, about the pardon they had been issued, so they wouldn’t have to pay the penalty for their sins, which was death.  Instead of dying in their sins, they could receive this pardon and live eternally.  For sure we can't save anyone.  Only God can do that!  And God has provided a pardon, a salvation to everyone through the death of His Son Jesus Christ.  Jesus tasted death for everyone. (Hebrews 2:9) Romans 5:8 reminds us that “God has manifested His great love to us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  The pardon has been issued by God, paid for by His Son, but someone must deliver the message of this pardon to the person under the condemnation of the law.  This could be called the debt of love.  “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.” (Roman 13:8)  My friend, we must remember that there is only one way of salvation and forgiveness of sins.  And that way is not religion or religious rituals!  Peter proclaimed, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”  May the Lord help us pay our debt of love as we deliver this wonderful pardon to as many as we can around us, and even abroad, as we share, pray, give and go!  God bless!
