Romans 12:1-2 - Body, Soul and Spirit

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Tuesday March 09 Romans 12:1-2 – Body, Soul and Spirit These two verses captured my mind and attention as a brand-new believer fifty years ago, the first time I read them! They definitely motivated me to dedicate my life, my body, soul and spirit to the Lord. There are two basic reasons that God can ask us to give Him our lives! The first is that He created us and gave us our very being and life! The second is that He has purchased us and redeemed us with the precious blood of His dear Son Jesus Christ. There is nothing more important for any human being than to be living in the “perfect will of God.” To be in God’s perfect will, first means that I have acknowledged that I am a sinner and have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. 1 Timothy 2:3-4 “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” To be in God’s perfect will also means that I believe that God has a calling on my life to be holy. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” And this all begins when we “present” our bodies as a living sacrifice to the Lord. This was an often repeated prayer of the Apostle Paul for all the believers. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 “Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” Happiness, fulfillment, success and a real sense of joy and completeness can only be found in this intimate relationship with the Lord! God is glorified and you are satisfied!!! God bless!
