Romans 15:20-21 - Joining Jesus in His Ministry

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Thursday April 22 Joining Jesus in His Ministry Romans 15:20-21 “And thus I make it my ambition to preach the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, lest I build on someone else’s foundation, but as it is written, “Those who have never been told of him will see, and those who have never heard will understand.” What a privilege and honor to be on mission with God! The heart of God is a heart of love that desires all peoples everywhere to have a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ. Scripture teaches that even in eternity past that God had a plan for the redemption and recovery of mankind from the curse and penalty of sin! Jesus is the “Lamb of God who was slain from the foundation of the world.” (Revelation 13:8) Jesus was sent on a mission by His Father to bring the love, mercy and gift of salvation to a lost world. In this chat today, I said that if you want to enjoy genuine joy and peace you must have the “mind of Christ” that Paul speaks of in Philippians 2. It was the mind of humility that cause Jesus to become human flesh and make Himself a servant and then be obedient to sacrifice Himself on an old rugged cross for the sin of mankind. Selfish, self-centered people will never enjoy real joy or peace. Jesus said if you try to save your life for yourself, you will lose it, but if you give up your life for Jesus and the sake of the Gospel, you will find it! (Mark 8:35) How amazing is that! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out! Today you can join Jesus on this eternal mission that really can impact and change the world! This is what Peter was speaking of in 1 Peter 2:9-12; “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.” On the day of God’s visitation, when Jesus returns to this earth, how many others will be prepared to glorify God because you joined Jesus on His mission today! God bless!
