Romans 6:15-23

from Calvary Nexus Sunday Sermons

Everybody serves somebody. Either we are slaves to sin, or slaves to righteousness (God). Before we are born again through faith in Jesus Christ, we’re all slaves to sin, and unable to serve God. But, by placing our faith in Jesus, we’re set free from our sin, and are now able to live as servants of God. Even as followers of Jesus, however, we must intentionally, continually choose to serve God. Living as servants of God results in eternal life; living our lives as servants of sin ultimately leads to death.
