Romans 8 - The Provisions of the Holy Spirit

Today, Thursday February 18 Romans 8 There is no reason to ever think that you can’t overcome the habits and sins of your past and live a new life in Christ. In this great chapter, the Apostle Paul shares with the believers at Rome and with us today, the provisions and power and blessings of the Person of the Holy Spirit that we was given at the moment of our salvation. The devil is a liar and will do his best to deceive us to not believe that the Holy Spirit lives in us. If he can’t keep us from getting saved, he will do everything he can to keep us from living a victorious Christian life! What are some of the provisions of the Holy Spirit that we need to believe and receive? Believe that the Holy Spirit lives in me! Romans 8:9 “But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you.” The Holy Spirit gives life to my mortal body. Romans 8:11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. At the moment of faith and obedience!!!! He makes alive! The Holy Spirit leads and guides. Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. The Holy Spirit gives assurance of salvation and makes us joint heirs with Jesus Christ as adopted children. Romans 8:15-17 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. This is only the beginning of the many promises, provisions and blessings we have been given by the Holy Spirit. Today, please believe, accept and receive them as yours and live as a child of the King! God bless!
