Send us Fan MailSeason 10 starts with a bang! We welcome the talented frontwoman Kimi Shelter of the majestic Atlanta-based quartet, Starbenders. Along with bandmates Aaron, Emily, and Kriss, the four have put together a certain musicianship and sound that no one else is creating. Well, not the way they are. Mixing in punk, rock n roll, and pop with 70s glitter and 80's glam – Starbenders are giving contemporary rock and roll quite the breath of fresh air. We get the chance to talk with Kimi about her own influences and her crew that fed into the elements and creativity of this band, and in addition, their well-deserved signing to the prominent label of Sumerian Records. It's also been over one year since the release of their latest album “Love Potions,” and with the positive reception the fans have given (and still are), Kimi talks about the chance of getting to perform the new songs into a live setting. The band is currently touring the States, and the live concert experience is a big part of who Starbenders are. The four leave everything on the stage, and Kimi dives into those said experiences with us; The chemistry within their ensemble is uncanny and unmatched. We also ask Kimi about her involvement with various charitable causes through music and performing, which deal with different non-profit organizations centered around assisting and being a positive influence on young children around the nation. This is an area that Kimi and her crew take to heart, and we go into amazing detail that give themselves the chance to play a big role in young lives.
