For this episode, we talk about the well known natural disasters during the early 90s.  These natural disasters were so destructive and so severe back in the day that it has resulted to a lot of lives lost and damaged infrastructure costing billions of pesos.  However, the devastation caused by these disasters paved the way for advances in our monitoring of these natural phenomena and related search and rescue operations.  We cover the following topics in our discussion: - Overview of these natural disasters namely, the 1991 Luzon Earthquake, The Mt. Pinatubo Eruption and Typhoon Uring which caused the Ormoc Landslide; - Our experiences and sentiments when these were happening - What has changed since then in disaster monitoring and search and rescue operations - What are the steps we can take to help us survive in case such disasters occur again, and many more! Special thanks to our guests Mr. Lawrence Aaron Bañes and Atty. Manny Santos for sharing their expertise in their respective fields during the show. Lawrence is a Science Research Assistant, assigned in Taal Volcano Observatory of the Volcano  Monitoring and Eruption Prediction Division, PHIVOLCS.  Atty. Manny on the other hand is the Manager for the Philippine Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Office and this office is in charge of dissemination of information about the Red Cross and Red Crescent  Movement, Its Principles and Emblems and International Humanitarian Law.
