S1 E16. Personal Boundaries - an interview with Spiritual Coach & Certified Healer, May Kuen Choo
from Road Least Travelled - A journey of the Soul · host Zhang Su Li
Are you tired of being taken advantage of, or being coerced to say "Yes" when you don't want to? Have you had enough of agreeing out of obligation or pressure from others, or guilt-tripped into doing something you don't feel comfortable with? Have you been in a situation where someone violated your personal or emotional space, and felt too awkward to assert yourself in saying "No"? And what about your priorities? Have you had to repeatedly shift your priorities to please others? Do you still feel guilty for saying "No"? When we weren't taught Personal Boundaries as children, we tend to have weak boundaries through adulthood, and even throughout our lives without really knowing what it means and how it protects us. Especially in Asian culture where we're taught from young to respect our elders, without considering the behaviour of such "elders". Such unconditional respect towards those that behave inappropriately or violate the child's dignity, can be traumatic and have life-long consequences. With practice, Personal Boundaries can be an easy first step towards gaining self love and self respect. Here, I speak with my guest, spiritual coach May Kuen on the implications of Personal Boundaries and how it can transform our lives.
