We discuss the past, present, and future of eye injury prevention at an international level. Dr. Annette Hoskin is a research fellow at the Save Sight Institute in Sydney Australia and Global Standardization Director for EssilorLuxottica, the industry leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of spectacles, sunglasses, and eye protection. Dr. Hoskin received a Bachelor of Science degree in optometry as well as a Master of Business Administration at the University of New South Wales. Dr. Hoskin serves as a member of the Asia Pacific Ophthalmic Trauma Society (APOTS) as well as an adjunct member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma (ASOT). She also serves as chair and expert on several International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Standards Australia committees.
