Before medical school, Dr. Toyos was a high school teacher and basketball coach. He received his medical degree at the University of Illinois and completed ophthalmology residency at Northwestern University and Chicago Children’s Hospital. Dr. Toyos is the inventor of the intense pulse light (IPL) procedure for Dry Eye Disease. Dr. Toyos has worked with athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and World Boxing Association, including close connections with the Memphis Grizzlies, Seattle Mariners, and Memphis Redbirds.
