from Stories Matter! - Helping Leaders Transform Lives · host IBGR onAir Talent Gayle Turner
"We, we so desperately wanted our own theatre company. We were making our living as theater people. We had our fair share of struggles along the way." "The pain and the angst and the stress is no longer there. It's just a great story to tell." "They had to climb under it and use a paper clip to reconnect the clutch." "One of my birthdays, the actors rode the van without water or oil and froze the motor up. I had to leave my own birthday party and drive down I-95 to get them and bring them home. They actually destroyed two of our vans over the years." "We only had two vans destroyed in all the years that we had these kids driving them. It was miraculous." "Yeah, they must have wanted to get rid of the van. It had no air conditioning, a pathetic radio, and the linchpin that held the clutch would fall apart. It was quite an adventure." "Become a person worth listening to so you can share stories like these. It's about perseverance and creating something meaningful." "It's important to embrace the hardships you face and turn them into great stories to inspire others." - We desperately wanted our own theatre company. - We made our living as theater people. - Our actors drove vans without water or oil, leading to engine trouble. - Two vans were destroyed over the years. - We faced logistical challenges without computers or GPS. - We hired a company of actors from a closed Renaissance fair, providing them with work. - Our Christmas shows were a huge crunch, but we brought in young actors to help. - We did short plays in daycare centers, schools, and malls. - We taught children skills and created future theater audiences.
