Aileen is a huge Stephen King fan and has been for as long as we can remember. This week she picked a book of his for each of us to read.

Aileen read one of King’s more recent books, Billie Summers. A crime thriller that’s something of a departure from what we all think of as a typical Stephen King novel.

Alisa should have read 11.22.63 like Aileen asked her to, but instead she read The Institute

Lauren also deviated from Aileen’s assignment and read Elevation instead, an engaging thought-experiment that stayed with Lauren long after she put it down.

Aileen suggested Josie read On Writing, King’s book about the craft of writing. (Was that a hint?) Not a how-to book, On Writing is more like an autobiographical account of King’s personal writing journey. Full of inspiration and honesty, On Writing is a generous gift to newbies from a master storyteller.

Country Doctor by Sarah Orne Jewett Loyal Books A Country Doctor is a fiction novel by American author Sarah Orne Jewett. The book, which was first published in 1884, was based on the relationship between Jewett and her physician father. The main character of A Country Doctor, Nan, is a young woman who encounters much strife when she decides to go against the traditional values of the day and become a doctor. The book has been listed as an example of the shift in the perception of the role of women in society, with the main character of Nan choosing to pursue her career in medicine rather than a marriage and family The Bookcast Simon & Schuster UK Publisher of fiction and non-fiction encompassing literary, crime, chick-lit, commercial women's fiction, cookery, history, politics, sport - and everything in between! Abide In Me Sam Welsby The A.I.M of this podcast is to help people form an intimate relationship with God and to answer the big life questions:- What was our origin?- Where can we find meaning and purpose?- How do we discern between good and evil, fact and fiction? - What is our ultimate destination? Many today are seeking these answers but not finding them. This is often because they are looking in the wrong places. All the guidance, wisdom, provision, love, forgiveness, hope and peace we seek can be found when we abide in our Creator. Before we can abide in Him, we need to know Him and also what He expects from us. "Abide in Me" was the message Jesus gave to His disciples before He left them. He knew that they would need to be close to Him, by abiding in His Word, if they were to be transformed and in turn transform the world. (John 15)I hope these podcasts open you up to learning about who Jesus was, what he taught and why we should abide in him. All the Bible verses I reference each week are li
