Serenity was just 7 years old when her abuse began. Raised by a single mother who struggled to provide for her 3 children, she eventually met a man who vowed to take care of all her financial stress and help step in and raise her 3 children. What was not disclosed was that this relationship endeavor was not predicated on love, protection and honestly... but on lies, deception, pedophilia and abuse. This is the story of how a vulnerable mother and family were used as prey for a monster in disguise to feed on...This is a harrowing story of horrific sexual and physical domestic abuse that missed many marks on being prevented. Serenity gives a rare glimpse into the mind of a young child struggling to survive and a mother too broken down and dependent to realize what was happening right under her nose. The story continues to reveal the insurmountable side-effects of this abuse that continued on as a helpless child grew into a young woman who wanted nothing more than love, protection, stability and friendship yet found herself in situation after situation of abuse that began in the household and resulted in human sex trafficking. There are many elements of abuse that are left out of the conversation including (but not limited to) how this abuse occurring at such a young and innocent age can affect the victim / survivor for the rest of their lives.  Serenity's story will have you on the edge of your seat as she reveals memories that take us down this dark path of her life and into the light she now works under as an awakened mother and in her career in the third sector to offer lived experience consultancy. She also spends her time now explaining the spiritual and generational side of human / child trafficking and how we as a society need to navigate our perceptions of trafficking and child abuse.
