S3-129 PURSUING SPIRITUAL GOALS

Without spiritual goals, it is impossible to serve the Lord effectively. Moses is the best biblical example of a man whose goal was clearly in focus. He "chose to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season." He rejected his lineage and privilege in the pharaoh's court because he "esteemed the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward." (Hebrews 11:25-26). In plain English: "He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward." (NLT)
