S3-132 EXAMINING OUR LIFESTYLE

The Apostle Paul wrote that God would render to every person according to their deeds: "To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath" (Romans 2:6-8). Paul was eager that saints "be established in the faith." Those whose goals are glorification in the resurrection, honor from God, immortality, and eternal life must be patient in well-doing. Our walk must be continuous, not "on again—off again" in a vacillating manner. Patient continuance in well-doing is not easy. Hence, we are reminded to "lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, to run with patience the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1).
