Although the New Testament church had none of the advantages 21st Century saints enjoy (the Bible in convenient formats, safe buildings to assemble in, rapid transit to attend service), "they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.  Moreover, "fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles" (Acts 2:42-43).
