S4-42 TO BE LIKE JESUS IS MY PLEA…

The musical portion of our service today was devoted to songs of dedication. Worship is offered to give glory and praise to our heavenly Father.  Conversely, dedication implores God to help us serve Him better by infilling us with His Spirit. As elect children, we are still in the process of being converted. We may have come far from being blatantly lost sinners, but we are by no means perfected.   Too often, we sing to please ourselves, not Almighty God. Because we are carnal, we tend to get emotionally involved in music in the sanctuary, but those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. So, our Pastor instructed us as a dad might his children. With a tender heart, he corrected us in areas where we tend to fall short of God’s will.
