There may be many reasons that you have fear of commitment, not least your attachment style, your beliefs about relationships and your relationship with yourself. If you are scared of commitment, John is here to detail how you can identify the nature of your fear and also, possibly, its source. KEY TAKEAWAYS You may have commitment phobia if you prefer to keep your relationships on a superficial or casual level An insecure attachment style called ‘dismissive avoidant’ or ‘fear avoidance’ may be a sign of a problem.  You may find it difficult to consider or discuss the future of a relationship. To overcome this, small steps are required so as not to trigger you to flee the situation. Fault finding and constant doubts can also be a pointer to this problem. Usually, the faults and doubts reach a little, being picky and inconsequential, so concentrating on your partners’ strengths can circumvent this.  Sharing and explaining your emotions may seem like a very vulnerable position, so you may avoid this by switching off or escaping when the subject of you is approached.  BEST MOMENTS ‘To keep every relationship in the ‘friends with benefits’ space means you struggle to be with people at a deeper level and only comfortable in surface relationships.’  ‘By understanding your attachment and working on overcoming these barriers you can start to entertain the idea of closer relationships without your brain jumping in and trying to protect you.’ ‘One thing that can cause a lack of trust is a lack of belief in yourself, that you don’t deserve good things, that you are bound to be disappointed by people so be nice to yourself as well as the person that you’re in the relationship with.’  ‘Being vulnerable means that you are being open, you are being brave and that emotionally open people are strong, that they have emotional intelligence.’     VALUABLE RESOURCES Link to my workshop -   https://www.johnkennycoaching.com/5- things-you-need-to-create-a-healthy-loving-relationship/ To get in touch - email –  [email protected]  or book a complimentary call –  https://calendly.com/johnkennycoaching/30min If people want to order a copy of the book then they can just pay postage of £4.95 (RRP £8.99) - www.johnkennycoaching.com/podcast-book-offer Want to be able to address the relationship issues in your life? - Why not book in for a complimentary call and we can discuss how you can get the new started with some new types of relationships - https://calendly.com/johnkennycoaching/30min The Relationship Guy Podcast - https://omny.fm/shows/the-relationship-guy           ABOUT THE HOST I am John Kenny, Award Winning Relationship Coach.Coaching people to experience healthy loving relationships. Brother Blaq1-" The Relationship Guy" Rob Gregg My podcast is about relationships and family. My goal is to help people make the right choice in mate selection. The only way we can grow as people is to look at our own lives and confront the truth. The saying is true, " the truth can set you free!! When we are totally free from the past, then and only then can we attract the right "purpose mate". Together with Nikhil Chinapa Nikhil Chinapa Together is a way of celebrating the relationship between you guys, the community that makes this show so special, and us, the team that puts the show together. Together, we/'re going to do amazing things. The FootPol Podcast Francesco Belcastro and Guy Burton The podcast that brings together football and politics. We'll be exploring the relationship between the two, both inside and outside the game. The podcast covers "Big Politics" like politicians, clubs, international and national federations and other organised groups and how they use or abuse the game to "Small, Everyday Politics" in the form of community-level clubs, fan associations and the way that football reflects the political challenges of our day to day lives. The FootPol Podcast is brought to you by co-hosts Drs Francesco Belcastro and Guy Burton. The Billy Madison Show Cristine Billy holds a Master’s Degree in Business from American International University and attended Mankato State in Minnesota, but don’t hold that against him. He is a collector of Star Wars memorabilia, autographs (seriously), and a self-admitted ”dork” (but in a cool way of course). Derek is Billy’s ”right hand man” and offers his opinion on many topics but he will honestly admit he’s ”not a political expert or expert on a lot of things” and ”never went to college” but neither did Bill Gates (ok Gates went, but dropped out) but so what? ”Nard” (also known as Nathan) is a former listener of the show that was given a job after Billy helped him find a girlfriend. The relationship with the girl didn’t last but Billy and the guys liked Nard’s ”wit” and offered him a chance to be on the show one day and he never left. Nard has won over 50 Gold Medals in The Special Olympics and supports causes that help place special needs individuals in appropriate jobs and careers, just as he has done.
