History is filled with people and nations making the wrong decisions, and sometimes the right one. In this first episode of Lesson From History, Draevnn Motkova introduces himself, his background in mental health counseling, and how the podcast, Lessons From History came to be. Created as an examination of humanity, his research will be used to reveal the decisions made in our global past and how humanity was impacted by personal, community, cultural, and national actions.     Being a huge fan of science fiction, Draevnn plans to share in a devil's advocate fashion what a time-traveler might learn in regard to how things were done and how they might have been. This has always been an intriguing thought for Motkova. "Could we have avoided a monumental decision and avoided an error, and what might the end result be if a different route had been taken? What about one bad decision leading to a bad outcome?  So, join Draevnn Motkova in this introspective introduction of his new adventure in the discovery of what was, and what might have been, using "Lessons From History,"

As a kid in school, I learned that long ago, two men on their own did the unbelievable - they flew a plane. They were the first and everybody was happy that it happened.What I have learned since is much different. I want to share today on Lessons From History my research and some surprising facts.  Let me reveal a different story, something more than my rosy picture of history. History recorded it and I have discovered that besides two successful and memorable men, there was lying, cheating. deception, and an attempt to rewrite history. Join me now as I reveal a more colorful, yet tainted story of the Wright Brothers and exactly what challenges they faced which made them a great, Lesson From History. 

The idea of cyber war is not new; researchers first suggested the concept 30 years ago. Since then, there's been a debate on what cyber war means and what can be done to prevent it. Some experts even suggest cyber war is already happening, even if it is mostly in the shadows. For Peter Kestner, the rise of cyber attacks and an increasingly volatile geopolitical situation were just two of the reasons to examine cyber warfare in more detail. Peter is both a keen student of history, and a cybersecurity professional with over 25 years' experience in consulting in the sector. He decided to combine the two interests, and the result is his new book, "The Art of Cyber Warfare". Peter believes that by looking into conflicts in the past, we can learn valuable lessons about how warfare, and especially cyber warfare, might develop. But history can also teach us how to improve our defences, against adversaries who are as comfortable attacking civilian as government or military targets.
